Die Teufelshunde World Tour Tribute T-Shirt
Die Teufelshunde World Tour Tribute T-Shirt
According to Marine Corps lore, the name Teufelshunde - Devil Dogs - was earned at the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918, when German troops came up against Marines who attacked through wheat fields and machine-gun fire with a ferocity they had never seen. More than a century later, that reputation has only grown.
This tribute tee borrows the look of a heavy-metal band's world tour shirt and turns it into a history lesson. The front carries "DIE TEUFELSHUNDE" in distressed metal lettering framed by lightning bolts, with a subdued American flag on the sleeve. The back is styled like a tour-date back print - except every "stop" is a major battle in United States Marine Corps history, listed with its year, running from the Battle of Nassau in 1776 through Belleau Wood, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, the Chosin Reservoir, Hue City, Khafji, and Marjah in 2010. Nearly 250 years of hard fighting, worn across your shoulders.
