Die Teufelshunde Hat

According to Marine Corps lore, the name Teufelshunde - Devil Dogs - was earned at the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918, when German troops met Marines who attacked through wheat fields and machine-gun fire with a ferocity they had never seen. The name stuck, and Marines have worn it with pride ever since.
